Fusø is a plastic board made from 100% discarded Carlsberg DraughtMaster kegs. We repurpose the kegs to a solid board. The combination of black and green results in a marble-like appearance and can be purchased in a range of sizes.

At ALICE, you can experience musical legends and fresh breakthroughs in an intimate setting, where there's room for both celebration and deep reflection. Here, global perspectives merge with a commitment to local communities and emerging talent. They create space for both the ecstasy of the dance floor and the debate-provoking atmosphere of cultural salons.

Throughout the year, they present a wide range of concerts, from global roots, folk, and jazz/improv to sound art, contemporary composition, metal, and electronic experiments. They also frequently venture outside their venue, organizing special concerts in unique spaces and collaborating with other actors—locally, nationally, and internationally—on larger events like festivals and tours. They work with partners like Roskilde Festival, Copenhagen Jazz Festival, CPH
, Strøm, and Copenhagen Opera Festival. ALICE is always eager for collaborations that showcase music in new ways and actively participates in public discussions about the role of music in society.

ALICE opened its doors on February 1, 2018, as a new venture following the merger of the venues Global and Jazzhouse, and has recently returned "home" to Nørrebro after an extensive renovation of the space.

A 19.000 m2 office building has been build in Århus just nearby DOKK1. The project has been DGNB Gold certified. One of the tenants, Søren Jensen Engineering, insisted and fought for less climate-damaging choices of building components and interior to be used for their 3rd floor. In close corporation with building owner, Danica Ejendomme, they wanted to showcase how much that could be saved from another Danica Ejendomme estate called Nauticon, in Copenhagen. They have worked with bio based products, with 1-.1 direct re-use, and then also further chosen upcycled end grain brick flooring by a:gain. Finally, it was chosen to save demolition glass from Nauticon with demolisher, Tscherning, and upcycled by DEKO and a:gain into the new Tystø glass partition wall. Besides the demolition glass, the wood is discarded wood. The upcycled flooring emission is approved according to REIS Ref. 6F006139

Søren Jensen HQ

At the ambitious project Fælledby, architects Together Architecture has thought in direct reuse, biobased products and industrialised upcycled products (our expertise). The project office which will be on site for ~ 6 years will during this phase also act as a construction laboratory showcasing new ways of reducing the climate impact of the real estate business.
We are happy to have delivered our biobased products, and upcycled a:gain Funderø flooring in collaboration with Junckers as well as out upcycled a:gain Fusø boards made of Carlsberg DraughtMaster kegs.

Trio Gulve

At Østerfælled Torv in Copenhagen the property and asset manager, Capital Investment, has completed a transformation of the 2nd at a 500 m2 tenancy for office usage.
Capital Investment was recommended to commence at dialogue with a:gain, and a very good process was set up among the two companies. Firstly, a small delegation of 4 people visited the a:gain office. Secondly a small delegation visited two a:gain project references showcasing the a:gain Hjælmø end grain brick flooring and a:gain Tystø glass partition walls. Thirdly, specific drawings for Østerfælled Torv was run inspected and a:gain help in writing the text for the quotation of the project for contractors to bid on. Finally, in dialogue with floor contractor, TRIO Gulve, the upcycled floor was delivered and installed.
TRIO Gulve did a beautiful job and the results are astounding.

C.F. Møller’s Have is an eco-friendly residential project covering approximately 12,000 m² across 8 stories. The building consists of 156 apartments and a public parking basement spread across 2 levels. The apartments range from 1-4 rooms and are suitable for single occupancy, young couples, and seniors.

This eco-friendly residential building features the use of upcycled and less climate-damaging building materials, such as a:gain's Bronsø Thermo wood-facade cladding and funderø flooring. The upcycled materials emphasize C.F Møller's Have’s commitment to creating a greener living environment for its inhabitants.

In Copenhagen Nordhavn, PensionDenmark is creating a DGNB Gold-certified office building. The general contractor, NCC, and the architect, PLH Architects, reached out to a:gain as a follow-up on meetings and dialogues between a:gain and PensionDenmark. In a good dialogue between the companies, it was agreed to purchase and install 950 m2 a:gain Funderø oak/ash flooring and to purchase 500 m2 of a:gain Dybø acoustics. These less climate-damaging materials are an additional feature of the project's sustainability efforts. Funderø Oak & Ash is a product from a a:gain, where the company focuses on upcycling floors.

TRÆ consist of three buildings which are 6, 6, and 20 floors high, built by using upcycled products. TRÆ is built in wood, concrete and glass, but also work with direct re-use, with biobased and upcycled products. Examples are discarded wind turbine blades, which, among other things, go through a series of fire tests before they are used on the facade. In addition, the project includes recycled facade panels, bricks, wood, double glazing and other materials that have been used before. Kilden & Hindby and stakeholders try to find, test and select materials along the way, and therefore cannot, for example, tell exactly how the facade will look, how the floors will be in the future offices or what kind of material is used for the acoustic ceilings. It is a new way of thinking and a different way of building, but we have a shared responsibility and an ambition to push the boundaries of how we build today. Now they try with TRÆ.

The Sunset Noodle restaurant in inner city Copenhagen is using our Fusø tabletops and is a vibrant place with an inspiring and colourful interior designed ensured by Barlby & Carlsson.
The Fusø made of Carlsberg DraughtMaster keg has been used in many places and inspire the many guests onto how waste is not waste. It is a resource on the wrong place in the wrong time.
We find that the photos talk for themselves. It looks great!

Sunset Noodle

Lendager's bustling offices in Copenhagen have been adorned with Tystø partitioning walls from upcycled wood. The team and clients alike are now able to enjoy improved acoustics and a more welcoming office atmosphere, thanks to the incorporation of our product. The choice to use Tystø not only enhances the acoustics of the space but also adds an appealing story to the room. With the help of these upcycled partitioning walls, Lendager architects and their clients can now enjoy a workspace that is both visually pleasing and beneficial to the environment. Grønttorvet spisehus is built on the ambition of creating Denmark's most sustainable solution to a community center. A common dining house that works self-sufficiently and where excess materials constantly move from one circuit to another - and do away with the idea of waste. The dining house is created almost exclusively from upcycled materials from the existing structure on site.

Bella Arena - or 'Kongreshal D' - is the latest addition to Bella Center Copenhagen. The arena is unique, contains several sustainable initiatives, and gives Bella Center Copenhagen, and Copenhagen in general, even better facilities for hosting major congresses and events. The arena is one of Northern Europe's largest of its kind and is well-suited for hosting cultural and sporting events. The arena is built and operated with a comprehensive approach to sustainability and as part of their Responsible Hospitality strategy. The project has obtained pre-qualification for the DGNB Gold Certification, which is currently one of the highest certifications for sustainable construction.

Bella Arena

The pharmaceutical company is expanding. As a consequence, they also need more working spaces, also in the inner Copenhagen area.

The specialist interior designers, Laika Rum design, chose to specify and work with the a:gain upcycled Nærø acoustic batts mad of upcycled textiles. In this case, the connection between the respect of resources and the customer is very interlinked, as the textiles are worn-out NOVO lab uniforms. The wooden frames are made of discarded wood.

We find the design and the combination of colours made by Laika to be spot on!

New Aarch The new school of architecture in Aarhus is located around Godsbanearealerne, in the heart of the city and will be a robust and flexible building that can easily be adapted to new requirements and needs in the future. The school takes on the character of a workshop, where students, teachers and researchers have ample opportunity to experiment and challenge the architecture of the future.

Novo Nordisk's busy offices in bagsværd have been clad in Kiø Beech acoustic panels. Here a sales force, as well as clients are provided with better acoustics and the warmth that upcycled beech provides to the office atmosphere. Their choice of Nærø acoustic batts for the panels provides the room and the product with yet another intrigueing storyline. Novo Nordisk Bagsværd

Valhøj School accommodates children from ages 6 to 16 and has a sports profile. The existing campus is laid out on a generous site in the outskirts of Copenhagen. Due to a huge growth in student numbers in the coming years, the school requires extension through the addition of two new buildings and a re-think of the organization.
In good dialogue with architects from Matters, a:gain presented the possibility to use the a:gain Bronsø thermo treated cladding. Design possibilities, profile options and necessity and possibility of having fire treatment of the wood were talked through. And, in good process with contractor, Lund Tømrer, the additional information on installation was run through.
The result is beautiful.

Valhøj Skole

Novo Nordisk Innovation Lab is a unique project for a:gain. In Novo Nordisk Innovation Lab, only repurposed materials have been used in the building proces. Several of the repurposing solutions are made from Novo Nordisk's own waste. Especially Novo Nordisk's used insulin pens have been used, both in a kitchen table top, interior panelling for the toilets and as aggregate in cement flooring.

The engineering company, ABC Rådgivende Ingeniører, has a strong focus on structural engineering but creates partnerships with other engineering disciplines. Sustainability has had an ever-increasing focus. A strong focus and competence area within wooden structures is one visible proof of this focus. Additionally, a team of DGNB consultants is growing, and as a part of ABC Engineering moving from Rødovre to Glostrup, there was a desire to try to incorporate upcycled furniture in the cantina area. Upcycled furniture does not in itself solve the issue we face with scarce resources. However, risk levels (opposed to e.g. the primary structural elements of a building) are low and furthermore, they act as a conversation starter. A conversation on how we as a society can, and must, prevent materials from being incinerated or deposited. A fun fact about this delivery is that the revenue made by a:gain, was reinvested directly into an additional firestop test at DBI of the a:gain Bronsø wooden façade. It passed the test, thereby enabling a 2.500 m2 order of Bronsø to succeed for another project made by Skanska. All small actions lead to larger successes, also when it comes to saving scarce resources.

ABC Engineering Headquarters

Carls Øl – og Spisehus is the area’s social gathering and food house. The restaurant is in an area with a history of the many hundreds of brewery employees who lived in Carlsbergbyen’s workers’ housing from 1847 until the turn of the millennium. Carlsbergbyen’s new beer and dining house has fantastic energy and offers experiences to residents and visitors in the area. The owners wanted to decorate with respect to the history of the area and it was, therefore, obvious to include the Fusø tabletops. The Fusø DraughtMaster Tabletops create a dynamic interplay between the raw frames and the aesthetic quality of the material that comes together well at Carl's. The addition of these tabletops will surely bring up new conversations and new experiences at Carls Øl- og Spisehus.

Aviator Lounge is for travelers who appreciate beautiful surroundings and of course a good tap beer. In the Aviator Lounge, you will be greeted by a warm, wooden interior created with a focus on solid Danish craft traditions. The interior materials are natural and environmentally friendly and nicely offset the green Fusø tables. Fusø is flexible and ideal for decorating restaurants, cafes, lounges, etc. The boards are robust and suitable for daily use, both outside and inside, and are 100% waste-based.

Aviator Lounge

Augusthus / Woods is an office building and sustainable initiative that through its design creates opportunities for office leases in varying sizes, located near Copenhagen. It is a multifunctional building, that shapes the office facilities of the future. The facade cladding of the inner courtyard is our upcycled Bronsø Thermo Wood Cladding, in a paired down and fairly strict version visually. However, whilst the boards may be of similar lengths and widths, the pieces are fairly short, allowing us to repurpose offcuts from other production.

The circular, Danish furniture brand Mater has joined forces with a:gain to reproduce a garden furniture collection first created in 1955 by the 20th century’s most renowned design couple: Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel. Mater and a:gain released this collection in mid-May 2021 and the very first customer for these products was of course Carlsberg. They have ordered chairs and tables for their new water recycling plant in Fredericia and their HQ Terrace. The chairs and tables fit perfectly in Carlsberg's environments around their HQ and Water Recycling Plant bringing a touch of Danish design. To sit on products made out of their own waste will for sure encourage talks about circular economy.

ZENZ is Denmark’s largest green hairdressing chain and that is not just something they say, but also showcasing by having upcycled interior. They do not compromise on sustainability and want to reduce the production of plastic, so they naturally turned to a:gain to furnish their Vesterbro salon. a:gain has specially designed two new products to suit ZENZ’s needs: counters and shelves from our collection, Fusø. The counter has a central place in the salon that serves as the main desk, this is where customers are welcomed at the beginning, are paying, and are planning their next appointment at the end. The shelves are used to highlight their own product line: ZENZ Organic Products. The ZENZ shelves are made of oak offcuts that create a beautiful play between the materials and color contrast. The products are the perfect match between design and sustainability for their upcycled interior. The circular, Danish furniture brand Mater has joined forces with a:gain to revive the iconic OC2 garden furniture collection from 1955, originally designed by the renowned 20th-century design couple Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel. Faarup Sommerland, one of our proud customers, absolutely loves the timeless beauty of OC2 as it perfectly complements the beauty of the amusement park. We are all very happy to bring this classic piece of furniture back to life!

Our Fusø DraughtMaster Upcycled tabletop were picked as the centerpiece of every dining experience at Alexanders Bistro. We think that the marble resemblance combined with a conscious sustainable profile is a great combination and fit for any modern restaurant. This upcycled tabletop is not only beautiful and durable, but it also helps start a conversation while waiting for your orders. Even if the contexts from Fusø can be kitchen front, tops, wall cladding or something different, we at a:gain make it possible. a:gain contributes to a more greener profile, and we do our best to reassure a more sustainable future with the products we offer.   

Alexanders Bistro

Bassin 7 is a huge urban regeneration project in the Århus area in Denmark. Architects SLETH, GEHL and BIG have together with developers, Anpartsselskabet Kilden og Mortensen, Bassin 7 Erhverv ApS and Bassin 7 Bolig Aps developed an entire urban area. As part of this also the water front activities have been lifted to new hights and the Ø4 Byliv area is now buzzing with multiple cafees and other city functions. In this long line of smaller houses, there was a strong focus on biobased, direct reused and industrially upcycled products. Within the last category, we at a:gain, have delivered upcycled Bronsø facade cladding and upcycled Dybø acoustic boards made of PET-bottles.

Bassin 7, Ø4 Byliv

The Danish demolition company, Tscherning, with a history dating back to 1975 is growing in size, and needed to expand current premises.
As the company for decades have upheld a genuine respect for Earth ressources, it was the ambition to a) re-use existing load-bearing structures, b) to build with 1-1 direct reused materials, c) to build with biobased products and d) to build with industrially upcycled products. In the last category, a.gain has delivered a:gain Hjælmø end grain brick flooring, a:gain Nærø acoustics of upcycled textiles, a:gain Fusø boards of upcycled Carlsberg Draughtmaster kegs and finally, a:gain x Wehlers RUM chairs with  upcycled Carlsberg Draughtmaster kegs.
The extension of the building and transformation of the exiting building is a joy to the eye and a green high-five to the environment. Go and check it out.

Tscherning HQ

In Vejle and Roskilde a:gain products are now priding some of Daarkbak Design's most busy meeting rooms with recycled panels. Here the sales force, as well as their clients can enjoy the luxurious Flarø panels in Black Coffee. Furthermore, plans are in place to furnish the rooms with the deep brown panels as a focal point, picking furniture that works in tandem with them - and in this case our recycled panels, Flarø.

Daarbak Design Showrooms

The 100 m2 wooden summerhouse has been built with a focus on direct re-use, on upcycling and on bio based products. It is built to be shared among two families, and with integrated outdoor sheds and a 50 m2 terasse facing West towards the great forest. It has been the intention to incorporate high quality craftmanship and working with Winther, which is a 6th generation family carpentry company, ensures just that.  The design and construction followed 5 dogmas: 1) climate friendly house with low emission materials and with minimal foundation, 2) a resource-efficient house in bio based materials, with direct re-usage and with industrially upcycled products, 3) a house for family sharing and m2 optimization, 4) a high quality craftmanship house and with a roof overhang and materials that are easy to maintain, and finally, 5) a house which fits to the surroundings. Building owners have had close dialogues with Ekovilla (paper wool insulation), with Hunton and Økonatur (bio based sub-roof construction and vapor barrier), with a:gain (Bronsø upcycled façade and terasse wood, Viddø upcycled glass façade and upcycled indoor cladding), with Greendozer (direct re-use beech parquet flooring and bathroom interior), with Velux (oven light and active steering), with Stykka (circular kitchen) and BioMason (bio cement tiles).

a:gain has delivered Dybø acoustic boards made from upcycled PET bottles and Hjælmø end grain brick flooring from upcycled discarded pine wood from industrial production to the Science City Lyngby.  Science City Lyngby is a non-profit association of +80 members from the municipality, DTU, and nine other educational institutions, as well as approximately 70 large and small businesses. These businesses include Microsoft, COWI, Topsøe, Novozymes, GEO, Aquaporin, LIFE, and many more. We strive to create a leading innovation district in Denmark, where everyone works together to develop, test and apply innovative green solutions. We share knowledge through open innovation, collaborate on concrete projects, and enable entrepreneurs, researchers, and students to access data and real-life testing environments provided by our members.   Sustainability Lab is a 700m2 showroom and visitor center, a co-working space, a meeting and event venue, and a living lab where we test and demonstrate technologies and solutions for a more sustainable future. Sustainability Lab is a sandbox for our +80 members, partners, sponsors, and all relevant startups, students, and researchers. Science City Lyngby

At the micro coffee roastery at Bjæverskov, Zealand, Kaffeværkstedet experienced non-satisfactory acoustics within the office. The owners Claus and Christian are very conscious about the sourcing of their coffee, and that they uphold the highest standards in sustainability. Hence, as they heard about a:gain, they reached out for guidance and a waste-based solution. It meant a lot to them that the production had been done in Denmark and had created local labor and jobs in Denmark. When they found out that our KIØ acoustic panels came in a surface treatment of the wood called Dark Coffee, the choice naturally fell on those. The acoustic panels provided the perfect sustainable solution, not only ensuring an improved soundscape within the office but also supporting a green(er) transition of the real estate business.
