Explore our three Nærø batt colour options. They are shades of grey and blue, which are determined by the textile waste it is produced from. We can never ensure an exact repetition of a specific nuance, from batch to batch, since our input material will always vary slightly. However, this just means that your batch is unique to your project!
Limited stock - Nærø batts from discarded workwear
We have a limited stock of Nærø batts made from discarded workwear. This variant has a slightly more textured look and feel. These come in varying shades of grey, blue and white, which are determined by the clothes it is produced from. Please reach out if you are interested in this variant.

What is Nærø made of and how do you source it? How much of the material is waste based?
The batts are made of worn-out workwear textiles. The textiles are generally a 65% cotton and 35% polyester mix. Currently min. 60% of the material is waste based; however, we are working towards increasing this share.
Does Nærø contain any hazardous components?
No, the textiles for Nærø enter our manufacturing line clean. The textile is bound by a PET binder, which does not evaporate.
How and where is Nærø manufactured?
First, the worn-out textiles are cleaned and sorted, then it is shredded and mixed with a PET binder. Subsequently, the material goes through a heated press, which enables the thermoplastic to bind the material together. The continuous product flowing out from the press is then cut to size, packaged, and shipped.
Is the material recyclable?
Yes, the textile can be sorted as ‘Textile’ at a recycling station. We also offer take-back services for reuse or remanufacturing into as-new products.
Can I order a customised size or colour of Nærø?
For larger projects, such as a whole office building or an entire floor, we can have new colours developed, however, for smaller projects the colours showcased on this page are our standard. We generally do not offer Nærø outside our standards. However, if your project is of sufficient scale, e.g., the entire floor of an office building, we are happy to discuss possibilities. Please reach out to us with your specific request.
How can I adjust or alter Nærø post-purchase?
Nærø can be cut using a very fine-toothed blade or alternatively a toothless blade. For more information check out the installation guide or send an inquiry.
How should I handle Nærø to not damage it?
Whether you are handling the softer 50mm batt or the harder 15mm batt, we recommend handling it with care. The surface and sides should be covered and protected, at least somewhat, until installation. Especially the surface that will be visible after the final installation should be protected, to ensure a good result. Be mindful to not leave it in heavily dusty environments prior to installation if it is not securely wrapped.
