Leadership Transition at a:gain
By Thomas Nygaard Hamann, 27/05/2025
After more than four years at the helm of a:gain, CEO Thomas Nygaard Hamann has decided to pursue new challenges in another green growth company. Since the company's inception, Thomas has led a:gain and, together with the team, built a market-leading company with a strong brand and a fully documented portfolio of circular building materials that can replace conventional products one-to-one.
With a solid foundation now firmly in place – including a dedicated team, strong industrial partnerships, and a rapidly growing sales pipeline – Thomas has decided that the time is right to hand over the reins. He will instead join the company’s board of directors, where he will continue to play an active role in shaping a:gain’s strategic direction.
“a:gain has been my passion project for over four years, and the decision to step down as CEO has not been easy. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved – a strong brand, groundbreaking products, and, above all, an extremely skilled and passionate team. It is precisely their dedication and capabilities that make me confident this is the right time to begin the next chapter. I look forward to continuing to contribute as an active board member,”
- Says Thomas Nygaard Hamann.
Chairman of the Board, Nicolai Broby Eckert, adds:
“Thomas has been instrumental in building a strong, market-leading company that is the first in the world to launch a broad portfolio of circular building materials. Under his leadership, a:gain has evolved from a bold idea into a professionally executed business with a strong sales pipeline and several major recent orders. I very much look forward to continuing our collaboration with Thomas on the board.”

The board has initiated a search process for Thomas’s successor. Thomas will remain in his role as CEO until a successful handover is in place. Meanwhile, the dedicated team at a:gain continues to push forward with the mission to accelerate the transition to circular construction.
