Supporting the building legislation

The undisputed and intense climate science, regulations on CO2-e / m2 and the EU Taxonomy have, finally – as the eye of Sauron is always locked on Frodo – finally, finally ensured that all eyes are desperately looking and locking in on (un)courageous politicians who are to take necessary climate action.

However hard a sell it might be for voter platforms, we can simply not prolong any further.

The real estate business must be more ambitious. Now. In particular, now, as lead times in our industry means that we must wait at least 3-4 years before we harvest from a tighter regulation.

We fully support the Reduction Roadmap and the desire to go for < 5,8 kg CO2 – equivalents / m2 / year in 2025 for selected project typologies.

We are ready with well proven shelf-ready upcycled products, as well as we are working intensely in maturing other upcycled products for the industry.

Tighter regulations push us and all others even further.

CO2-equivalents do not stand alone. At a:gain we – besides the included CO-reduction benefits of our upcycled products – strive to save scarce resources. Hence tonnes of waste (read: resources) saved from deposit or combustion is an equally important business target for a:gain.
