Origin

Munkø cladding powered by a:gain is a waste-based wall cladding made from wood offcuts from window frame production. Every day in the wood industry, several containers are filled with wooden slats that could have been the raw material in other productions. This wood was discarded as a consequence of high standards on wooden window frames, but the knots that disqualify it from that production, we see as an aesthetic of its own. Instead of leaving the wood as a residual material, it has been repurposed and turned into wooden slats for a natural and playful wall cladding. The product was developed as a consequence of cladding developed for Copenhagen Towers, pictured on the right. Note: We are currently developing this product into a full-height panel for easier installation on-site.
