High fire performance

The lamellas are made from solid discarded Douglas wood which build up complexity when fire testing, but this is also what makes this product unique in the market.

Many rounds of testing have finally got us to a Bs1d0. Today the panel has past a indicative SBI test.

"I am made from discarded wood"

7.4 kg of waste saved*

4.1 kg CO2eq footprint*

The wood originates from Germany, harvested sustainably to maintain a healthy forest. Carefully selected trees are cut down without harming the environment. The Danish manufacturing prioritises eco-friendly practices, utilising bio-based fuel and wind energy. Flawed materials from regular production, such as large knots or uneven planing, are repurposed by a:gain, ensuring zero waste.

*Per m2, based on internal LCA, calculations for phases A1-A4

Collection
We source the Douglas Fir wood for Flarø FR from a Danish wood manufacturer. The wood is discarded because of knots and cracks
Milling
The wood is then processed at Overgaard Wood, in Fredericia. Here the wood is first rough cut for production
Profiling
We seek to minimise the number of different profiles so that our manufacturing is agile. Furthermore, we always cut profiles that are optimised to the material
Manufacturing
The Douglas fir is turned into one of our final products. For example our Flarø Douglas panels

Natural

Solid, natural untreated douglas fir gives the panel a warm and matte expression

Lacquered

With lacquer finish added, the lamellas gets a slight silk finish to them with an increased luster

Black cloth

The dark fire retardant textile gives the panel a modern calm contrast

Unique features of the wood
Knots
All knots are allowed unless they affect functionality
Grain
As opposed to veneered wood, the grain may turn between lamellas
Colour
The colour will vary slightly with the woods natural hues

Verified acoustic performance

The acoustic performance is categorised in sound absorption classes from A-E, where A has the highes absorption.

The following sound absorption results are based on mounting Flarø FR directly on mineral wool with a thickness of 50 mm.
